Creating an FTP account

An FTP account lets you (or a developer) upload and manage files with software such as FileZilla. To create one:

1. Sign in at my.dirhamaday.ae and open the DirhamHost panel.
2. Go to FTP Accounts.
3. Enter a username (it becomes user@yourdomain.ae), choose a strong password, and set the Directory.
4. Set a quota if you wish, then click Create.

The Directory is important: setting it to public_html gives access to your live website only, while a subfolder such as public_html/uploads restricts a contractor to just that area. This is the safest way to give a freelancer access without sharing your main login.

Your connection details will be:

• Host: ftp.yourdomain.ae (or your server hostname)
• Username: the full user@yourdomain.ae
• Port: 21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP
