We are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

This policy applies to personal data we process about our customers, prospective customers, website visitors, and users of our mobile app. It covers our web hosting, domain registration, virtual private server (VPS), business email, SSL certificate, and related services, together with our website and customer application. We process personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the PDPL) and other applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and contact details. Your name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, company name where applicable, and the username and password you use to access your account.
  • Billing and payment details. Billing address, tax identification details where relevant, invoices, and records of the products you have purchased. Card payments are handled by our payment processors. We never store your full card number, and we do not have access to your complete card details.
  • Domain registrant details. The registrant name, address, email, and phone number required by domain registries to register and administer a domain. Some of this information may be displayed in the public WHOIS directory as required by the relevant registry.
  • Hosting content and usage data. The files, databases, websites, and email data you store on our infrastructure, along with server logs, access logs, IP addresses, resource usage, and diagnostic data generated as you use the services.
  • Support correspondence. Messages, tickets, chat transcripts, and WhatsApp conversations you exchange with our support team, including any attachments you send us.
  • Cookies and analytics. Basic cookies and analytics data that help our website and portal function and help us understand how they are used, as described in the Cookies section below.
  • Mobile app data. When you use our customer app, we may collect device information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and a push notification token so we can deliver service notifications to your device.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide, provision, and maintain the services you order, and manage your account.
  • Register and administer domains on your behalf with the relevant registries and registrar partners.
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and manage renewals and billing.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests and enquiries.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our network, detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity.
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under UAE law.
  • Send you essential service notices, such as renewal reminders, maintenance windows, security alerts, and changes to our terms or policies.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

4. Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple

Our customer app and portal allow you to sign in using your Google account or your Apple account. When you choose one of these options, we receive only your basic profile information, namely your name and email address, in order to create your Dirham A Day account or to sign you in to an existing one. We request no other data from Google or Apple.

We use this information solely for authentication and account management. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it for that purpose. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. If you use Sign in with Apple, we also support Apple private relay email addresses, so you can keep your real email address private while still receiving important account messages from us.

5. How we share information

We share personal data only where necessary to operate our services, and only with parties who are bound to protect it. These include:

  • Payment processors such as Stripe and PayPal, who process your payments securely on our behalf.
  • Domain registries and registrar partners, for example Dreamscape Networks (DS Network), to register, transfer, and manage domains as required by the applicable registry and ICANN policies.
  • Infrastructure and email providers that supply the servers, data centres, and email systems on which our services run.
  • Authorities and regulators, where we are required to disclose information to comply with a lawful request, court order, or applicable law.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. International transfers

Some of our processors and infrastructure providers are located outside the United Arab Emirates. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take appropriate steps to ensure that it remains protected to a standard consistent with the PDPL, including using reputable providers who apply recognised safeguards and contractual protections for the data they handle on our behalf.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the services you have requested. After your account is closed, we delete or anonymise personal data that we no longer need. We retain invoices, tax records, and other financial documents for the period required by UAE law, even after your account has been closed.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data. These include encryption of data in transit using industry standard protocols, storing passwords in hashed form rather than in plain text, restricting access to personal data to authorised staff on a need to know basis, and monitoring our systems for unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

9. Your rights, and how to delete your account and data

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct inaccurate data, and to request deletion of your data. You may also object to or ask us to restrict certain processing.

You can delete your account at any time. In the customer app, open the Account section and choose the option to delete your account. You can also request deletion by emailing us at support@dirhamaday.ae. When you delete your account, we remove your login credentials and personal profile data. Please note that we retain financial records such as invoices and tax documents for the period required by UAE law, and that active services or unpaid balances may need to be resolved before deletion can be completed. To exercise any of your rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.

10. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
