SSL & HTTPS

How do I renew my SSL certificate manually?

Free Let's Encrypt certificates on Dirham A Day renew automatically, so you normally never touch them. But if you want to force a renewal, for instance after fixing a DNS issue, you can trigger it yourself.

For free (AutoSSL) certificates:

  1. Log in to the DirhamHost control panel from my.dirhamaday.ae.
  2. Open SSL/TLS Status.
  3. Tick the domains and subdomains you want to refresh.
  4. Click Run AutoSSL. New certificates are issued immediately if validation passes.

For this to work, the domain must point to our servers so Let's Encrypt can verify it.

For a purchased certificate: these do not auto-renew. Before the expiry date, buy the renewal from your provider, generate a fresh CSR if they require one, complete validation, and install the new certificate via Install an SSL Certificate. Set a calendar reminder a couple of weeks ahead so it never lapses.

After any renewal, load your site over https:// and check the padlock and new expiry date. If a manual AutoSSL run will not complete, DNS is usually the cause; our 24/7 team can help on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae.
