How does the free SSL certificate work?
Dirham A Day issues free SSL through Let's Encrypt, a trusted, non-profit certificate authority recognised by every major browser. The whole process is automated by the DirhamHost control panel using a standard called ACME.
In plain terms, here is what happens behind the scenes:
- When your domain points to our NVMe servers, our system asks Let's Encrypt for a certificate.
- Let's Encrypt verifies that you control the domain by checking a temporary file or DNS record on your account.
- Once verified, the certificate is issued and installed on your site automatically.
- Well before the 90-day expiry, the system renews it in the background.
You do not need to generate anything, copy any keys, or paste certificate text. The padlock simply appears and stays valid.
The only requirement is that your domain's DNS points to our servers. If your domain is still with another host or behind a proxy that intercepts verification, issuance can fail. If you ever see a certificate warning after going live, reach out on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae and we will re-issue it for you.
