How do I generate a CSR?
A CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is a small block of text you submit to a certificate authority when buying a paid SSL certificate. It contains your domain and organisation details and is paired with a private key that stays on the server.
You only need a CSR for a purchased certificate. Our free Let's Encrypt certificates do not require one.
To generate a CSR in the DirhamHost control panel:
- Log in from my.dirhamaday.ae and open the SSL/TLS tool.
- Choose Generate a New Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
- Select your domain and fill in the details: company (as legally registered), city (for example Dubai), and country (AE for the UAE).
- Submit. The panel creates and stores the matching private key and gives you the CSR text.
Copy the entire CSR block, including the -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- and -----END----- lines, and paste it into your certificate provider's order form.
Once they issue the certificate, install it via Install an SSL Certificate in the same tool. Do not regenerate the CSR after ordering, or the private key will no longer match. Need help? Contact WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae.
