What happens when you hit a resource limit?
Reaching a resource limit is not a disaster and it does not take your site offline permanently. Here is exactly what happens.
When your account momentarily needs more CPU, memory or processes than your plan allows, DirhamGuard holds you at your ceiling until the demand passes. In practice this means one of two things for that brief moment:
- Pages may load a little more slowly, because requests are queued and served as capacity frees up.
- A visitor may occasionally see a resource-limit message (often shown as a 508 error) if the site is fully saturated at that instant.
The key word is brief. Most limit-hits last only seconds. As soon as the surge passes, your account returns to normal on its own - there is nothing to restart or reset.
You only need to act if this happens often or for sustained periods. Frequent limit-hits usually mean one of three things: real growth in traffic (time to upgrade), a heavy plugin or script that needs optimising, or unusual bot traffic hammering your site.
To investigate, check your usage graphs in the DirhamHost panel and note when the spikes occur. If you would like a hand working out the cause, our UAE-based team is available 24/7 on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or at support@dirhamaday.ae.
