Using the spam filter
Your Dirham A Day email includes spam filtering that scores incoming messages and moves likely junk to a Junk/Spam folder, keeping your inbox clean. You can tune how aggressive it is.
To adjust it in the DirhamHost panel:
- Open Spam Filters (Apache SpamAssassin) under Email.
- Enable it if it is off.
- Set the spam threshold score - a lower number is stricter (catches more, but risks false positives); a higher number is more lenient.
- Choose whether to move spam to a folder or add a tag to the subject.
Fine-tuning:
- Use the whitelist to always allow trusted senders and the blacklist to always block others.
- Check your Junk folder periodically for false positives, especially in the first weeks.
- A threshold around 5 suits most businesses; lower to 3-4 only if you get heavy spam.
Marking messages as spam or not-spam in Omnio webmail also helps the filter learn. If legitimate mail keeps landing in Junk, whitelist those senders and slightly raise the threshold. For persistent spam from a particular domain, blacklist it. Need help calibrating the filter for your inbox? Our team is available 24/7 - WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767.
