Setting up email on Android

You can add your Dirham A Day mailbox to the Gmail app or any Android mail client. Using the Gmail app:

1. Open Gmail > menu > Settings > Add account > Other.
2. Enter your full email address and tap Next, then choose Personal (IMAP).
3. Enter your password.
4. Incoming server: set Server to mail.yourdomain.ae, port 993, security SSL/TLS, username = full email address.
5. Outgoing server: set SMTP server to mail.yourdomain.ae, port 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS), require sign-in on, with your full email and password.
6. Finish and name the account.

Always choose IMAP so messages stay synchronised across your devices and webmail. If sending fails, check that outgoing authentication is enabled and that you used the full email address as the username.

Samsung and other manufacturers include their own Email app; the same server names, ports and SSL settings apply. Your exact mail hostname is shown in the DirhamHost Email Accounts > Connect Devices section. If you get a certificate warning, use the server hostname we provide rather than your domain. Stuck?
