Taking an on-demand backup
As well as the automatic scheduled backups, DirhamVault lets you take an on-demand backup - a fresh copy made right now, at a moment of your choosing. This is invaluable just before you make any significant change to your site.
To take an on-demand backup:
- Log in to the DirhamHost panel.
- Open the DirhamVault backup section.
- Choose the option to create a new backup now.
- Select whether you want a full account backup or a specific component (such as a database), then confirm.
The best time to take an on-demand backup is immediately before:
- A major update to WordPress core, a theme or plugins.
- Switching or heavily editing a theme.
- A bulk import of products, posts or users.
- Any change made directly to files or the database.
That way, if the change goes wrong, you have a restore point from the exact moment before it - not just from the last scheduled backup, which could be hours old and may not reflect your latest work.
On-demand backups sit alongside your automatic ones and give you the same one-click restore options: whole account, or a single file, folder, database or mailbox.
