Restoring a mailbox
Email matters just as much as your website, and DirhamVault backs it up too. If a mailbox is emptied by mistake, important messages are lost, or an email account is affected by a problem, you can restore a single mailbox without touching the rest of your account.
To restore a mailbox:
- Log in to the DirhamHost panel.
- Open the DirhamVault backup section.
- Choose mailbox restore (or restore an email account).
- Select a restore point from before the messages were lost.
- Choose the specific mailbox and confirm.
This granular approach means, for example, that if one member of staff accidentally deletes a folder of important emails, you can bring back just their mailbox from yesterday without affecting anyone else's email or your website.
A few things to keep in mind:
- A mailbox restore returns the mailbox to how it looked at the chosen restore point, so messages received after that point may not be included - pick your restore point with that in mind.
- If only a few specific messages are needed, it can be worth restoring to a point that has them and then copying those messages out, rather than overwriting a mailbox that also holds newer mail.
