Restoring a database
Your website's database holds much of what makes it work - your WordPress posts and settings, your shop's orders and products, your customer accounts. If a database becomes corrupted, is changed by a bad plugin, or is affected by a security incident, DirhamVault lets you restore just that database on its own.
Restoring only the database is often exactly what you want, because it brings back your content and data without touching your files, themes or email. To do it:
- Log in to the DirhamHost panel.
- Open the DirhamVault backup section.
- Choose database restore.
- Select the restore point from before the problem occurred.
- Pick the specific database you want to restore and confirm.
A few tips:
- Restoring a database replaces its current contents with the backup version, so any data added after that restore point (for example newer orders) will not be present. Choose your restore point carefully, especially on a busy shop.
- If you are troubleshooting, it can be worth taking an on-demand backup first so you can compare or return to the current state if needed.
- For a database-specific problem, a targeted database restore is far safer than a full-account rollback.
