Optimising your site to stay under limits

Before upgrading your plan, it is often worth optimising your site - a leaner site uses fewer resources, runs faster, and stays comfortably within your DirhamGuard limits. Here is a practical checklist.

  1. Enable caching. This is the biggest single improvement. A caching layer serves ready-made pages instead of rebuilding them for every visitor, cutting CPU and memory use sharply.
  2. Reduce plugins and add-ons. Deactivate and delete anything you do not use. Fewer plugins means less work on every page load.
  3. Optimise images. Resize and compress large images. Oversized photos are one of the most common causes of high memory and bandwidth use.
  4. Use a lightweight theme. Heavy, feature-packed themes load slowly; a lean theme does the same job for less.
  5. Tidy your database. Remove spam, old revisions, expired sessions and stale logs that make queries slower and heavier.
  6. Schedule tasks sensibly. Space out cron jobs and run heavy ones during quiet hours.
  7. Block bad bots. Stop scrapers and spam bots from wasting resources you would rather spend on real customers.
  8. Keep software updated. Updates frequently bring performance gains.

Make one change at a time and watch its effect in the resource graphs in your DirhamHost panel. Often a couple of these steps are enough to bring a struggling site well under its limits. If you have optimised and your site is still busy, that is a healthy sign of growth and a good moment to upgrade.
