Migrating from cPanel

Moving from a cPanel host to Dirham A Day is one of the most common migrations we do, and it is free. We have a built-in cPanel importer that reads a standard cPanel backup and recreates your site on our platform - files, databases, email accounts and settings together.

Because cPanel is the most widely used hosting control panel, this process is well-trodden and reliable. There are two easy ways to provide us what we need:

• Give us access to your current cPanel (or your login details), and we can generate and import the backup for you.
• Provide a cPanel backup yourself - a full-account cPanel backup file - which our importer ingests directly.

The migration typically brings across:

• Your website files.
• Your databases.
• Your email accounts and their messages.
• Associated settings so your site works the same on our platform.

To keep your site online during the move, we can use a reverse-proxy cutover: your site stays live on its old address while we set everything up, so there is little or no downtime - and often no DNS change needed from you until you are ready.
