Migrating a WordPress site

A WordPress site has two essential parts, and we move both together:

• The files - your themes, plugins and uploaded media, plus WordPress itself.
• The database - your posts, pages, settings, users and comments.

How it works:

1. You give us access to your current host (or a backup of the WordPress site).
2. We move the files and database to our platform and configure WordPress to run here.
3. We can keep your site live on its existing address throughout, using a reverse-proxy cutover for little or no downtime.
4. You test the site on our platform, and we switch over when you are happy.

After the move we will help you with the finishing touches - re-issuing your SSL certificate so your padlock stays green, and checking that plugins, forms and any shop features work as expected.
