Migrating your email

When you move hosting, your email needs to come across too - and with Dirham A Day it is included in your free migration. We bring over your email accounts and their existing messages so you do not lose your correspondence.

A good email migration means moving three things:

• Your email accounts (the addresses themselves).
• The messages and folders inside each mailbox.
• The settings so your email works the same once you are here.

The most sensitive part of any email move is the changeover of mail routing (the MX records that decide where new email is delivered). We manage this carefully so that mail keeps flowing and nothing is lost in the gap. Our approach is to have your mailboxes ready on our platform before the switch, so when new mail starts arriving here, your messages and folders are already in place.

What helps your email move go smoothly:

• Let us know all the email addresses that need to come across.
• Keep your old mailboxes active until we confirm the move is complete, as a safety net.
• After the move, update your email programs and phones with the new server settings, which we will provide.
