Migrating email from Gmail

Moving from Gmail (or Google Workspace) to your new Dirham A Day mailbox is straightforward - you can bring your old messages with you.

Method 1 - Import in a mail client:

1. Add both accounts (Gmail and your new Dirham A Day mailbox) to a desktop client like Thunderbird or Outlook via IMAP.
2. Select the messages or folders in Gmail and copy/drag them into the matching folder of your new mailbox.
3. The client uploads them to our server, preserving your mail.

For Gmail IMAP you may need to enable IMAP in Gmail settings and use an app password if two-factor authentication is on.

Method 2 - Fetch/import tool: some panels offer an Import option that pulls mail from another IMAP account automatically. Provide your Gmail IMAP details and let it copy across.

Before switching, remember to:

• Update your MX records to point to Dirham A Day so new mail arrives here.
• Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for good deliverability.
• Reconfigure your devices to the new server settings.
