Setting up a mailing list

A mailing list lets you send one message to many recipients using a single address - useful for internal team announcements or a small group of subscribers.

For a simple internal group, the easiest approach is a forwarder that points to several addresses: in the DirhamHost panel, create a forwarder such as team@yourdomain.ae and add each member's address as a destination. Anyone emailing that address reaches the whole group.

For a managed list with subscribe/unsubscribe features, some panels include a Mailing Lists tool (Mailman-style) where you can:

• Create a list address and set who can post.
• Let people subscribe and unsubscribe themselves.
• Moderate messages before they go out.

Important for marketing: hosting mailing lists are best for small internal groups, not large newsletters. For bulk marketing email to hundreds or thousands of contacts, use a dedicated email marketing service (or a third-party SMTP like SendGrid) to protect your domain's deliverability and comply with anti-spam rules. Sending large volumes through standard hosting mailboxes can trigger rate limits and hurt your sending reputation.
