Will my passwords stay the same after migrating?
A common and sensible question when moving hosts is whether your passwords and logins will still work. The short answer is that the logins inside your website generally stay the same, while some hosting-level access will be new. Here is the breakdown.
What stays the same:
- Your website's own logins - for example your WordPress admin username and password, and your customers' accounts - come across with the site, because they live in your database, which we migrate intact. You log in to your site exactly as before.
- Your content and settings, including anything tied to those accounts, move with you.
What will be new:
- Your hosting control panel access changes, because you are now using the Dirham A Day platform and the DirhamHost panel instead of your old host's panel. You will get new panel login details from us.
- Your email passwords may need to be set or re-entered on our platform, and you will update your devices with the new mail server settings we provide.
A note on security: a move is a good moment to refresh any weak passwords. If you have been meaning to strengthen your admin or email passwords, now is an ideal time.
If you are unsure which logins will change, our team will tell you clearly and provide any new credentials you need for the hosting side. We will never ask you to send us sensitive passwords insecurely. For guidance on your specific setup, contact our UAE-based team at support@dirhamaday.ae or WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767.
