Excluding files from backups

Most customers happily let DirhamVault back up their entire account, and that is the safest default. Occasionally, though, it makes sense to exclude certain files from backups - usually large, disposable data that would only bloat your backups without being worth keeping.

Good candidates for exclusion are files that are large and easily regenerated or genuinely unnecessary, such as:

The benefit of excluding such data is smaller, faster backups and less storage used. The risk is that anything you exclude will not be there to restore - so only exclude data you are certain you do not need to recover.
