What to do when email storage is full
If a mailbox is full, incoming messages bounce back to senders and you stop receiving mail - so this needs prompt attention. "Full" can mean the mailbox quota is reached, or your whole account's disk space is used up.
Free up space quickly:
- In Omnio webmail, empty the Trash and Junk folders.
- Sort by size and delete or archive large attachments and old newsletters.
- Move important mail to a local archive (via an IMAP client) then remove it from the server.
Raise the quota: in the DirhamHost panel, open Email Accounts, click Manage on the mailbox, and increase its storage or set it to Unlimited - provided your account still has free disk space.
Check overall disk usage: if the whole account is near its limit, cleaning one mailbox may not be enough. Review disk usage in the panel and clean up old backups and large files, or upgrade your plan for more NVMe storage.
To prevent recurrence, set realistic quotas, encourage staff to empty Junk/Trash, and archive old mail periodically.
