Email backups with DirhamVault
Your email is often just as important as your website, and DirhamVault protects it too. Your mailboxes are included in your automatic off-site backups, so if messages are lost or a mailbox is damaged, you can restore them.
Because backups are granular, you are not forced to restore everything at once. You can bring back a single mailbox on its own, leaving your website and other email accounts untouched. This is ideal when, for example, one member of staff accidentally deletes an important folder of emails - you restore just their mailbox from an earlier point.
To restore email:
- Log in to the DirhamHost panel and open DirhamVault.
- Choose mailbox restore.
- Select a restore point from before the messages were lost.
- Pick the mailbox and confirm.
A few practical tips for email:
- Email issues are often urgent, so do not hesitate to contact us for help choosing the right restore point.
- A mailbox restore returns the mailbox to how it looked at the chosen point, so mail received after that may not be included - keep this in mind for busy inboxes.
- For extra safety with critical correspondence, consider also keeping local copies via your email client, alongside DirhamVault's off-site backups.
