Using email aliases

An alias is an extra address that delivers into an existing mailbox, so you can receive mail at several addresses without managing separate inboxes. For example, hello@yourdomain.ae and enquiries@yourdomain.ae can both land in your main inbox.

On Dirham A Day hosting, aliases are created as forwarders that point to your real mailbox:

  1. Open the DirhamHost panel and go to Forwarders.
  2. Click Add Forwarder.
  3. Enter the alias address (e.g. hello@yourdomain.ae) and set it to forward to your real mailbox.
  4. Save.

Why use aliases:

To also send as an alias, add it as an identity in Omnio webmail or your mail client so the correct "From" address appears. Because aliases share one inbox, they are lighter than full mailboxes - but if a department needs its own storage and login, create a real mailbox instead. Want plus-addressing for even more flexibility? See our guide on that. Need help planning your addresses? Contact support@dirhamaday.ae.
