Creating email forwarders
A forwarder automatically sends a copy of mail arriving at one address to another. It is perfect for routing info@yourdomain.ae to a team member, or sending a departmental address to several people.
To create one in the DirhamHost panel:
- Go to Forwarders (under Email).
- Click Add Forwarder.
- Enter the address to forward from and the destination address to forward to.
- Save.
Uses:
- Route
sales@to two colleagues so nobody misses an enquiry. - Forward a role address to a personal mailbox without creating a full account.
- Combine several forwarders to build a simple distribution list.
A forwarder does not store mail itself - it passes it on. If you want a copy kept on the server and forwarded, create a real mailbox and add a forwarder, or set forwarding rules within that mailbox. Note that forwarding to external providers like Gmail can occasionally affect deliverability because the mail arrives via your server; keeping SPF and DKIM correctly configured helps. To forward every unmatched address, use a catch-all instead. Need a distribution list for a whole department? We can help set it up - WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767.
