Are my backups encrypted?
Your backups contain a complete copy of your website, databases and email, so it is natural to ask how they are protected. DirhamVault stores your backups securely and off-site, on infrastructure separate from your live hosting server, with access restricted to your account.
Keeping backups off-site is itself an important safeguard: your copies are not sitting on the same machine as your live site, so they are protected against a server-level problem, and they are held in controlled storage rather than anywhere publicly accessible.
To keep your data safe, we recommend a few sensible practices on your side:
- Protect your account. Your backups are only as secure as the login that can access them. Use a strong, unique password for your Dirham A Day account and DirhamHost panel, and keep it private.
- Handle downloads carefully. If you download a backup to your own computer, that copy is now in your care - store it somewhere private and, ideally, encrypted or password-protected, and delete old copies you no longer need.
- Limit who has access. Only give panel access to people who genuinely need it.
As a UAE-based company (Sixty Seven Digital FZCO, Dubai), we take the privacy of your data seriously and store backups off-site under our control.
