Wildcard DNS records

A wildcard DNS record uses an asterisk (*) to match any subdomain that you have not defined individually. For example, a wildcard A record for *.yourbusiness.ae would catch anything.yourbusiness.ae and send it to the same place.

Wildcards are handy when:

• You want every subdomain to point to one server or app.
• Your application creates subdomains dynamically for customers.

To add one, open the DNS manager in your client area, create a record with the name *, and set the target as you would any A or CNAME record. Specific records you define separately always take priority over the wildcard.
