How to add an A record

An A record connects your domain (or a subdomain) to a server IP address — most often to point your website to your hosting.

To add one:

1. Open the DNS manager for your domain in your client area.
2. Choose Add record and select type A.
3. Enter the name (use @ for the main domain, or a subdomain like shop).
4. Enter the IP address you want it to point to.
5. Save.

Changes take from a few minutes up to a few hours to propagate. If you host with us, your A record is usually set up automatically — you only need to add one manually when pointing to an external server or app. Need the correct IP?
