How to add a CNAME record

A CNAME record points one name to another name rather than to an IP address. It is commonly used for subdomains — for example pointing www to your main domain, or connecting a service like a landing-page tool.

To add a CNAME:

1. Open the DNS manager in your client area.
2. Choose Add record and select CNAME.
3. Enter the name (the subdomain, such as www or blog).
4. Enter the target (the destination name the service gave you).
5. Save.
