How long does DNS propagation take?
When you change DNS settings — such as nameservers or records — the update needs to spread across the internet. This is called propagation, and it does not happen instantly.
Typical timings:
- Record changes (A, CNAME, MX, TXT) — usually a few minutes to a couple of hours.
- Nameserver changes — can take up to 24 to 48 hours to complete worldwide.
During propagation, some visitors may see the new setting while others still see the old one — this is normal and temporary. Lower TTL values speed future changes up.
If more than 48 hours have passed and something still is not working, contact our team on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae and we will check it for you.
