How to check DNS propagation

After changing DNS settings, you may want to see whether the update has spread across the internet. This is called checking propagation.

Simple ways to check:

• Visit your website from a different device or mobile network to see if the new setting appears.
• Use an online DNS propagation checker (search for one) and enter your domain to see results from different countries.
• Clear your browser cache, or try a private/incognito window.

Remember that propagation is gradual — some locations update before others. Record changes are usually quick, while nameserver changes can take up to 48 hours.
