VPS snapshots

A snapshot captures the exact state of your VPS at a moment in time, everything on the server, so you can return to that point if needed. It is a quick safety step before making major changes.

Snapshots are handy when you are about to:

• Update or upgrade important software
• Change server or firewall configuration
• Install a new control panel or application

If something does not go to plan, you can restore the snapshot and your server returns to how it was, saving you from a lengthy rebuild.

Keep in mind that a snapshot is a point-in-time image and is not a replacement for regular, off-server backups of your files and databases; use both together for the best protection.
