How do I keep my email accounts secure?

Email is a favourite target because a compromised account can be used to send spam or scam your contacts. Protect your business email with these steps.

• Strong, unique passwords on every mailbox, generated with the panel's password tool. Never reuse your email password elsewhere.
• Use secure connections (SSL/TLS) in your mail client: IMAP port 993, POP3 995, SMTP 465 or 587. Never send mail over an unencrypted connection.
• Enable SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your domain. These prove your mail is genuine, reduce spoofing, and keep your messages out of recipients' spam folders. We can set these up for you.
• Watch for phishing. Never enter your email password into a link from an email; log in only via the official webmail at your domain.
• Remove old accounts and forwarders you no longer use.
