How do I stop other sites hotlinking my images?

Hotlinking is when another website displays your images by linking directly to the files on your server. Their visitors load the images from you, which uses your bandwidth and effectively lets them steal your content. Hotlink protection stops this.

To enable it:

  1. Log in to the DirhamHost control panel from my.dirhamaday.ae.
  2. Open the Hotlink Protection tool.
  3. Confirm your own domain(s) are listed as allowed, so your own pages still display images.
  4. Optionally list the file types to protect (for example jpg, jpeg, png, gif).
  5. Enable it.

After enabling, your images load normally on your own site, but if another site tries to embed them, the image will not appear for their visitors.

Good to know:

Hotlink protection saves bandwidth and protects your content. If images stop showing on a service you use after enabling it, add that service's domain to the allow list, or contact WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae for help.
