How does login protection (LFD) keep attackers out?
Automated attackers constantly probe hosting servers, trying to guess logins for control panels, email, FTP and applications. Dirham A Day blocks these attempts with LFD (Login Failure Daemon), which works hand-in-hand with the CSF firewall, in the same spirit as tools like fail2ban.
Here is how it protects you:
- LFD continuously monitors login attempts across services.
- When it detects repeated failed logins from the same IP address in a short time, it treats it as an attack.
- It then bans that IP at the firewall, so the attacker is cut off before they can guess a working password.
This is fully automatic and managed by our team, so you get real-time brute-force protection without configuring anything.
You can add your own layers on top: enable two-factor authentication, use strong unique passwords, and limit login attempts in applications such as WordPress.
One thing to know: if you or a colleague mistype a password several times, your own IP can be temporarily banned and you will be unable to reach your site or email. If this happens, find your current IP (search "what is my IP") and contact our 24/7 team on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae to be unblocked right away.
