Can I block traffic from a specific country?

Yes. If your business only serves customers in the UAE or a few countries, blocking traffic from regions you never sell to can cut down on spam, fraud attempts and automated attacks. This is often called geo-blocking.

There are two practical approaches:

1. Server firewall (CSF) country block. This is the strongest option, blocking entire countries at the network level before they reach your site or email. 2. Site-level block (.htaccess or a plugin). For WordPress, security plugins such as Wordfence let you block or challenge specific countries from within your dashboard. This is easy to manage yourself and applies just to that site.

A word of caution:

• Blocking a country stops all visitors from there, including legitimate customers travelling or using a VPN.
• Attackers can route through allowed countries, so treat this as one layer, not a complete defence.
