What is a proforma invoice?

A proforma invoice is a request for payment issued before a service is paid for. Think of it as an invoice that says "here is what is due" while it is still awaiting payment.

Once you pay a proforma invoice, it becomes a full tax invoice showing the VAT you were charged, which is the document you keep for your accounting. This two-step approach is common and keeps your records tidy: the tax invoice is only finalised once the money has actually been received.

In your client area you will see the invoice move from Unpaid to Paid after payment, and the downloadable PDF updates accordingly. You can find both under Billing → My Invoices at my.dirhamaday.ae.
