How to use a staging site to test changes

A staging site is a private copy of your website where you can test updates, new plugins or design changes without affecting your live site. It is the safest way to make big changes.

  1. In the DirhamHost control panel, look for a WordPress Staging or Create Staging option (also available in tools like LiteSpeed/WP Toolkit).
  2. Create the staging copy — it clones your files and database to a temporary address.
  3. Make and test your changes there: updates, a new theme, WooCommerce settings, and so on.
  4. When you are happy, use Push to Live to copy the changes across.

Always take a backup of the live site before pushing changes. If your plugin (such as WP Staging or LiteSpeed) offers selective push, review which files and database tables you are copying so you do not overwrite new orders or form entries on the live shop.
