How to enable free SSL (HTTPS) on WordPress

SSL puts the padlock in the address bar and encrypts data between your site and visitors. Every Dirham A Day plan includes free SSL.

  1. In the DirhamHost panel, open SSL/TLS Status and make sure a certificate is issued for your domain (AutoSSL usually installs one automatically).
  2. In WordPress, go to Settings → General and change both the WordPress Address and Site Address to start with https://.
  3. Save, then log back in over https.

To move every link at once and avoid warnings, install the free Really Simple SSL plugin — it detects your certificate and redirects all traffic to https in a click. Afterwards, resave Settings → Permalinks and clear your cache.

If some images or scripts still load over http you will see a mixed-content warning — see our dedicated article to fix it. New certificates can take a short while to activate after a domain points to us. If the padlock never appears, contact our team on WhatsApp +971 58 553 6767 or support@dirhamaday.ae and we will reissue the certificate.
